comparison of cobot grippers from New Scale Robotics, Zimmer, OnRobot, Robotiq, Dahl, Schunk and Weiss

Comparison of cobot gripper mass and measurement precision for grippers from New Scale Robotics, Zimmer, OnRobot, Robotiq, Dahl, Schunk and Weiss

Mass and measurement precision

For automated metrology and small part manipulation with cobots, you need a robotic gripper that:

  • is small and lightweight
  • has high measurement precision.

The NSR-PG-10-20 Precision Parallel Gripper has the lowest mass and offers the best measurement precision of any “plug-and-produce” gripper for Universal Robots collaborative robots.

Its mass of only 175 grams is ideal for the smallest cobots, such as the UR3e.

Compared to robot grippers from Robotiq, OnRobot, Zimmer, Dahl, Schunk and Weiss, the NSR-PG-10-20 represents the smallest percentage of robot capacity. This increases robot precision.

The NSR-PG-10-20 has the highest part measurement precision, at 10 micrometers. This enables automated gauging, in-line inspection and real-time process monitoring.

This precision is five to ten times better than similar grippers from OnRobot and Zimmer, and twenty times better than grippers from Robotiq.

Cobot grippers from Dahl, Schunk, and Weiss have only end-point sensor or no sensor, and are not suitable for measurement applications.
